This comic was created in our humble beginnings, right after we designed the first version of our Initiative Tracker. We were looking for cheap, creative ways to market our very first D&D RPG product. While it’s not the most professional-looking ad, its message still rings true.

In our experience, tracking initiative in D&D can be a drag. Rolling for initiative should spark excitement, not cause bathroom breaks and DM headaches.

One of our core values is: "How can we improve the game we love, without breaking the rules as written?" And that's exactly why we designed the Initiative Tracker! With all initiative scores and turn order visible to everyone at the table, we’ve banished the administrative chaos at the start of combat. The best part? We did it without changing a single word in the rules.

Why Not Just Use an Alternative Initiative System?

Great question! There are many great initiative alternatives out there, but what would you tell the player that just chose the Alert feat for its +5 initiative boost? Homebrewing your own initiative rules is awesome, but we're not here to invade your home with our brewing.
